The socialists are at it again, pushing their Marxist ideology which abhors Marriage, by seeking to introduce "civil unions" as they have done in the UK in an attempt to replace Marriage.

This issue is continuously aired without the primary difficulty being explained to the public.

This flows from the fact that a Marriage must, by definition and law, be a sexual union and this is a presumption.

The laws of Marriage are governed by the laws of Annulment, amongst which are that a Marriage is void-able if it was not consummated. This means that there was no attempt at procreation by sexual intercourse between the couple.

For two people to be allowed to avail of some special rights of a "civil union", which are not to be allowed to other legitimate pairings of any other two adults, it will be required for them to show that their union is sexual. Such proof of them having "sexual intercourse" is both legally and physically impossible to produce and so is impertinent, as well as being distasteful. Of course, people of the same sex can never have sexual intercourse.

Proof that a Marriage is invalid where there was NO sexual union can be achieved in law satisfactorily and tastefully - otherwise the Marriage is valid
Proof for the sort of "civil union" promoted by Brendan Howlin will have to be that there IS sexual union which is impossible and distasteful as well as being not fair on any public official or court of law to have to adjudicate on.

As it is never possible to prove - to the satisfaction of the burden of proof required by a competent court of law - that two people are having sexual intercourse - and are continuing to and will continue to - it would be improper in law to prescribe any special rights for them.

God bless, Roger Eldridge

"The danger now lies in the fact that Ms O'Beirne, who is known to have a very short fuse, and will go to any legnths to protect her book, may present as a danger to all of us who have been instrumental in pulling the book down.

We know from her considerable expertise in petty crime, that she's not above going after any one who opposes her. Even those who recognising her frailty of mind, and still tried to help her, she has viciously attacked.

Fr O'Connell, the founder of Sherrard House, where she lived freely to pursue her life of crime, became the subject of horrific allegations from Kathy.

This man was crippled with rheumatism, and could hardly dress himself without excrutiating pain, suffered for years trying to clear his name. He died a lonely, but forgiving man, despite the horror she caused him.

When asked about this on Ireland AM, she totally refuted any such allegations.

Many of us who have featured in the book, will now have to take safeguards to mind our children and families, as the Gardaí in Clondalkin have told us she's capable of anything.

Am I worried, as the main instigator of the campaign, to get her book pulled?. Yes, a little but am I deterred in the quest to see that 'Kathy's Real Story' gets out to the Irish public in order to show them what a horrendous fraud has been perpetuated?. Not a bit of it. This is only the begining of Kathy O'Beirne's downfall, and the L.O.V.E charity will not cease until she is on her knees.

Far too many innocent people have been duped by Ms O'Beirne. Her story was not hers to tell. It was ours, from the institutions.

We call on all of those who have not read Mr Kelly's remarkably shocking book, to now do so, and have your eyes opened in a way you never would have thought possible.

"Moy Ross

Pat

I am deeply concerned about the possible destruction of what is fundamentally a good Limerick community, already showing the first signs of recovery having been ravaged by drugs for so long.

When I worked in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, I was horrified to find that in the lead up to the event, every homeless person in the city had been given a free train ticket to any destination of their liking in the USA. However, the tickets were all 'one way'!

When society displays the destructive effects of greed, injustice and lack of forgiveness, the problem cannot be healed by destroying some of the symptoms only for them to break out again in other even more destructive forms.

Regeneration must mean regeneration, and not destruction.

In the book of the prophet Jeremiah, the prophet rails against the leaders and false prophets of the time saying "lightly have you healed the wound of my people saying 'peace', 'peace' where there is no peace."

In other words, a band aid won't work; and, it is also dishonest!

Communities and the nation in general have to be transformed from the heart, that is, from the inside out and from the bottom up!

Imposing a 'final solution', from the outside, will just further dull the collective conscience of the nation and destroy a good community which has the right to exist. Let's not cure the disease by killing the patient.

Sincerely
Dónal O'Sullivan-Latchford"

Mixing Politics and Religion

"It's not for me to mix politics and religion here" were the words used by Enda Kenny as he proceeded to mix politics and religion. By calling on the Church to distance itself from the Lisbon analysis expressed in the Alive newspaper and the well founded ( not to mention legally supported ) fears about the imposition of abortion and euthanasia in this country, Mr Kenny has added his hand to those who would muzzle the voices of conscience.

The Taoiseach, Brian Cowen has already indicated that any conscientious objection to Lisbon which his Fianna Fáil colleagues might hold, can only be considered outside the context of the parliamentary party. And Labour's Joe Costello has gone so far as to object to the distribution of No-to-Lisbon leaflets on the street, outside the Pro Cathedral in Dublin.

Such an approach, even extending to this gross interference in the Church by the state, should not surprise us. As Gay Byrne has so eloquently reminded us, this whole push towards Euro federalisation and the destruction of its nations has been predicated upon the refusal to listen to its peoples.

With Lisbon, it has been no different. The voices of the peoples are listened to only when they bleat in harmony to those of their leaders. But when the peoples of Europe indicate they are unhappy with the path their leaders are taking them down, then consultation processes are suspended and the will of the peoples ignored.

We need look no further than the failed attempt by the peoples of France and the Netherlands to stop the EU Constitution in its tracks. When referendums went the 'wrong' way for its leaders, the referendums were abandoned, their results ignored, and suddenly we were told we either couldn't or shouldn't hold referendums, anyway! Then, the 'incomprehensibility card' was played as a relatively readable official EU Constitution was replaced with a relatively unreadable Lisbon Treaty, which we are now being told we should have no reasonable expectation of being able to understand.

The sort of 'democracy' that is being practiced here is the one we were used to hearing about in the former Soviet Union (USSR) or indeed the German Democratic Republic (GDR): you are perfectly free to express your opinion and even to cast your vote provided it accords with the wishes of your leaders, those benevolent leaders who know so much better than you what is in your best interests.

Whatever one's views on Eurofederalism, this is no way to give birth to the new European home.

In the interests of freedom of conscience, as well as of its own credibility, the Church must resist the unprecedented pressure that is being brought to bear on it at so critical a time for Ireland and for Europe. It is time, once again, for the Church to be the voice of the voiceless.
